This blog post will cover each step individually with examples of how it played out for the young entrepreneur that made his billion before he could vote.

Step One:

Believe in Yourself

You hear it all the time, but why is believing in yourself so important?

Because everything starts with self-confidence. If you think that you can’t do something then most likely you won’t even try. Start by believing that no matter what challenge is presented before you, that you will prevail and be victorious.

Henry Ford always believed in himself and made sure to remind his employees of this. “If you think you can, you probably can. If you think you can’t, you’re right.”

Step Two:

Network with People
“It’s not about what you know, but who you know.”

Easier said than done, right? But we all know that it’s true so why don’t we take the time to become better at building and maintaining relationships with people?

The reason people network is because it helps everyone involved. It can be as simple as making a call or sending an email to others within your industry.

By doing this, you have the potential of being contacted by people that can help you. It increases your chances of meeting someone influential within the industry and who knows what doors that could open for you?

Step Three:

Be Open to New Opportunities

“I just kept opportunitizing.”

We tend to talk ourselves out of opportunities because we don’t think that it’s the right time, the timing isn’t perfect, or too many things could go wrong. Instead of saying no immediately, learn how to say “yes”, even if you don’t know all of the answers.

Step Four:

Don’t Let Your Failures Define You

“Failure is always knocking at your door. But don’t let it in. Failure is an opportunity with its hand outstretched. Reach out and grab it.”

We all experience failure, there’s really no way around it. However, how we see these “failures” define us as people. We either allow them to drag us down or we learn from them and keep pushing forward.

There have been so many times in my own life where I allowed failure to define me as a person. I felt as though nothing could go right for me, that everything that I did was going to turn into a disaster because of one mishap.

It wasn’t until I realized that who I am as a person isn’t defined by my failures but by how I choose to move forward.

Even when I feel like the odds are stacked against me, I know that anything can happen in life and to never give up because you never truly know what will happen next.

Step Five:

Hang Out With Other Successful People

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Ever heard this quote before? We all have. Well, it’s true and we can all learn from one another just by spending more time together and getting to know each other on a deeper level.

“Surround yourself with smart people who’ll argue with you.”

Being around people who are driven, ambitious, and have a strong work ethic can improve your own mindset because you’ll see that they are the ones achieving their dreams.

I’ve personally adopted this motto in life because it truly works out for me. I always want to surround myself with people who are smarter than me so that I can learn from them and in return, become a better person.

When I am around these individuals, I feel more motivated to succeed because they inspire me to do the same. I see what they’re able to accomplish and it gives me the drive to not only push myself but also push others around me to not settle for anything less than greatness.

Step Six:

Don’t Overthink Things

“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably why so few engage in it.”

The biggest obstacle that prevents us from achieving our goals and dreams is ourselves.

We can all become our own worst enemy by overthinking and overcomplicating things that aren’t complicated at all.

There’s nothing wrong with thinking and planning out your next move but you need to be aware of when it becomes counterproductive and reaches a level of bad over-thinking.

For example, we may feel like we’re not ready for something big in our lives such as starting our own business or going vegan.

Although these decisions may be a little challenging/overwhelming, we must remember that anything worth doing in life will have its difficulties and challenges along the way.

We can’t let this discourage us from taking risks because when we think about it, what’s the worst thing that could happen?

Step Seven:

Follow Your Dreams Now

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”

If you’re reading this right now, congrats because you are alive. You have the opportunity here and now to follow your dreams because there honestly is no better time than the present.

I know that it may be easier said than done but the only thing stopping us from fulfilling our dreams is ourselves. We have everything we need here to begin so why not start now?

Don’t wait around for someone else to tell you what you can or cannot do with your life. Follow your own path and pave the way towards your dreams because it’s the only way that you’ll truly be happy.

When we follow what makes our hearts come alive, we will never regret a single decision along the way and will continue to make a positive impact on ourselves and others around us.

Step Eight:

Make mistakes and learn from them

One of the biggest lessons I’ve ever learned is that anything in life worth having isn’t going to come easy.

There are going to be many ups and downs, twists and turns along the way but you have got to make mistakes in order to learn from them.

If you don’t make these mistakes yourself, someone else will do it for you and chances are, you won’t like the way it turns out. So remember-it’s better to try and fail than to never try at all.

Step nine:

Quit Making Excuses

“I cannot afford the time to practice. I cannot afford new equipment. I am too old, too young, or too busy.”

The number one reason we do not achieve our dreams and goals in life is that we simply give up on them.

We all have dreams and want to achieve greatness but very few of us actually dedicate the amount of time and effort needed to see these dreams come true.

Unfortunately, not everyone is born with the same good fortune but this doesn’t mean that you can’t be successful in life.

You may have to work longer hours than most or even take on a second job just to get by but there’s one thing I know for certain-nothing is impossible.

It’s up to us to decide how we spend our time and use the resources that we have at the moment so it’s important that we stop making excuses and start taking action right away.

This world belongs to all of us so let’s become worthy of it by following our dreams and living the lives we were born to live.
